Up till now all the sneak peeks of the Twilight sequel New Moon have depicted only the human-vampirewerewolf love triangle, but now fans can finally get a look at the ultimate vampires — the Volturi.

For the uninitiated, the Volturi are a clan of centuries-old vampires who are as close as you’ll get to bloodsucking royalty. They oversee the world’s vampires, coming down hard on any human who learns of their existence.

In the highly anticipated movie, Edward (Robert Pattinson) flees to Volturi headquarters in Italy to pick a fight when he mistakenly comes to believe that his soulmate Bella (Kristen Stewart) killed herself after he broke up with her.

The Volturi are played by actors wearing some really creepy coloured contact lenses, including Dakota Fanning as Jane, who can inflict pain on others; Jamie Campbell Bower as Draco Malfoy-lookalike Caius; and Michael Sheen as Aro, the head vampire who can read people’s minds.
